Sports Injuries Relief Program
Injury can take away the most enjoyable things you do, including your sports or hobbies. ActivePT's sports injury programs aim to help injuries heal as fast as possible using modern technology and methods of treatment that have stood the test of time. A referral from your doctor is not necessary, but we may refer you to your doctor or a specialist if the therapist feels it is a condition may warrant additional examination. Start enjoying your sport or hobby again as soon as possible with the help of a physical therapist who can teach you how to get your injury to heal faster and tips to reduce the risk of re-injury.

Physical therapists are the leading experts in the rehabilitation of muscle, bone, and joint injuries. We help you get your body back as close to normal as possible, despite your pain or injury. Our unique advantage at ActivePT is access to the nationally recognized fitness facility at the Rochester Athletic Club. You will have full access to the club's amenities during your therapy session and for a limited time around your appointment time each visit. This gives you access to aquatic therapy in a warm water pool, indoor walking track, and all the equipment you need to rehab back to your best potential.

Self Help Tips
  • Ice is important as it prevents swelling from coming into the painful area. You should ice immediately after the pain begins and at least four times per day for the next two days. Icing before bed time can also help you sleep better.
  • Immediate injuries do typically require some rest to heal fastest. Avoid activity that causes more pain for at least a few days for your best chance at healing injuries fast.
  • If an area is swollen, compress it and elevate it if you have normal circulation and do not have diabetes. Reducing excess swelling can help to reduce the pain faster and with less pain medication.
